Memories of Mississippi

I started this blog with the idea that I can finally use the digital pictures for something. I have been reluctant to use them for scrapbooking and thought this would provide me a place to display them other than a scrapbook. So we have pictures with commentary! These pictures are when we brought Max home from the hospital while we were living in Ocean Springs. I don't have a lot of film pictures from September 2005 since I was pregnant and then postpartum and snapping pictures was the furthest thing from my mind.

Thank you Shane for being so diligent with the digital camera before I BELIEVED IN IT! We came home from the hospital to an empty house. We did have an air mattress and rubbermaid tub for a makeshift changing table. We are still so thankful that the waters from Katrina stopped at our front step and did not enter the house. The movers came and packed and moved our things in one day which was about 12 hours before I went to the hospital. We only stayed in the house for 2 days and then drove through hurricane ravaged western Louisiana (thanks to Hurricane Rita) to San Antonio. That was the longest drive of my life.

Memories of New Orleans

Living in New Orleans for a year was a lot of fun. Especially with one child we could get around all over the city. Leif's favorite place was City Park, I enjoyed going downtown and the aquarium. Shane's favorite place was Cafe Dumonde or any place that serves gumbo. We left the city about 6 weeks before Katrina hit to move to Ocean springs. Unlike the home in Mississippi, the New Orleans place was under water.

Hairstyles by Max

No one could look at Max without remarking about his hair. I cut it when he was 3 months old and there was a lot to cut off!

Best Friends

When they are not fighting, teasing or antagonizing...they are best friends, just what brothers should be!

What a Dad!

Shane is such a great dad and terrific husband, we are all so blessed to have him! I am so thankful my boys have such a great example.

Cake Marathon

My wonderful eater! Dallin loves to eat most all foods and a lot of it. I don't know why the little guy is only 19lbs. Here he is enjoying chocolate cake. YUM!

Grandma's 85th

We were really lucky this year to have (Great) Grandma Jo celebrate her 85th birthday at our home. We had a fun time, looks like her wish will come true!

starting now

June 19, 2008

This is as good a day to start as any! Dallin has just turned one on the 19th. Happy little guy as always. He really enjoyed the day. Leif and Max had just as much fun playing with all the baby toys!
